Our program is accredited by the prestigious NAEYC organization (National Association for the Education of Young Children). This accreditation is earned by fewer than 8 % of childcare centers nationally. NAEYC accreditation is one way to be assured that your child is in a quality, safe, environment. We offer teacher: child ratios much lower than non-accredited programs, qualified/trained teachers, age appropriate curriculum, and quality equipment and supplies. We believe that each child learns at his/her own pace and our developmentally appropriate curriculum is planned to meet the unique learning style and needs of each child. We pride ourselves with supporting the family and providing a smooth transition between family life and our childcare center, including excellent communication on a daily basis regarding your child’s experiences while in our center. Your child will be assigned personal areas such as his/her own crib, and a drawer or cubbie to store personal items. We follow the feeding schedule recommended by you and provide formula up to the age of 12 months. We provide breakfast, a hot catered lunch and afternoon snack for those infants 12 months and older.
Teacher/Staff Qualifications
Teachers have a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field/certification. All teachers and assistant teachers are required to meet requirements for continuing education and training in child development per accreditation and Step Up to Quality Standards.
Curriculum & Assessments
Teachers follow the Creative Curriculum and provide a balance of activities that includes: “tummy time” to help strengthen the infants muscles, songs, finger play/ music activities, art activities, sensory play, outdoor play that includes buggy rides when weather permits, and a wide range of age appropriate books and toys. Strict cleanliness policies include: shoe coverings must be used to keep outside dirt and germs out of the infant areas, toys that are used by an infant and dropped are put into a cleaning bin and replaced with a clean toy. We use the “Ages and Stages” system of assessments for the infant age group. These assessments will give you information about how your child is developing compared to a typical child that age. We realize that all children develop and grow at different rates so the individuality of your child is always accounted for.
Safety
We have safety policies that are strictly enforced. You will authorize in writing who is allowed to pick up your child and we will never release your child to anyone that you have not authorized in writing. Upon enrollment, you will receive a security code to sign your child in and out of the program. Your child’s teachers are trained in CPR and First Aid in addition to a wide variety of child development trainings.
As your child grows… We offer a full range of childcare services beginning with infant care and following your child through toddler years, preschool years and school age years. Each transition is done slowly and with care for your child’s comfort and adjustment to the next classroom. Your input will be included in the transition plan for your child.
